This was the start -- Phyllis on her computer, aka third arm, in the
airpo

rt. I'm learning much from her, not least of which is some tech savvy.

Today, Sunday, our main destination was the whirling dervishes at the Galata Mevlevi museum.  Their ceremony only takes place one day a week at 4 :30 pm Sunday.  So we started out in good time but lo and behold, there was a huge international marathon going on today and the transportation system was shut down.  Cabs couldn't even get through.  So while figured out plan C, we went into the Aya Sophia, which started out as a Christian basilica in 537, was ransacked by the crusaders and was then turned into a mosque in 1453.  Its now a museum.  Here is the virgin and child from the early days.

And here is mosaic in gold, ditto.
After we saw our fill, we learned that the only way we could get across the Golden Horn and the dervishes was to walk down to the water/bridge, so we did.  Whoa...
Just discovered its after 11 pm.  More tomorrow..
